Balloons Over Morgantown is an annual event held in October at the Morgantown Municipal Airport. Each year, 12-18 balloons are invited to fly over the beautiful hills of Morgantown during five launches over the course of the weekend. The event kicks off with the popular “Night Glow” where the balloons get a chance to show off their colors.

Season of Lights Planetarium Show

This annual holiday show is held at WVU Planetarium. You can learn about how yuletide traditions are connected to the sky above with this exciting full-dome show. The rooftop telescope will even be opened during good weather.

International Street Festival

This is an event held in downtown Morgantown every fall. It’s organized by Main Street Morgantown and the Morgantown Sister Cities Commission. The festival offers visitors a taste of the various cultures in the Morgantown community. Indulge in the many entertainment, food, and games presented for the entire family. It’s a celebration of Morgantown’s diversity and culture through music, dance, and culinary offerings. Exhibitors come from Saudi Arabia, Africa, Ethiopia, Kuwait, Bangladesh, Brazil, India, China, Spain, Japan, and more.

The Jingle Brawl

The Morgantown Roller Vixens’ annual Jingle Brawl is a holiday-themed women’s roller derby scrimmage plus an all-gender game for the male skaters. The MRV (Morgantown Roller Vixens) offer an opportunity for empowerment, camaraderie, competition, and athleticism to Morgantown’s women and the nearby area while promoting flat-track roller derby.

Annual Juried Student Exhibition

This yearly event is held at West Virginia University’s Creative Arts Center. Visitors can view a gallery of exquisite masterpieces from the students of WVU’s School of Art and Design. This exhibition aims to support budding artists by showcasing their creations.
