GRAFTON, WV: On July 15, 2022, first responders were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of West Main and Sycamore Streets in Grafton.
The drivers of both vehicles were transported from the scene of the nearly head-on collision to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Taylor County EMS and the Grafton Fire Department responded to the scene, and Grafton Police Officer Maley is conducting the investigation.
Head-on collisions most often occur when a driver falls asleep at the wheel and swerves into oncoming traffic, a drunk or distracted driver crosses lanes, or a motorist drives the wrong way on a one-way lane or approach.
